I may be getting a chance to buy an old Fordson
tractor that hasn't run for 40 years - the engine
isn't frozen - it turns over - I am wondering what may be a fair price for it - plus how much will it cost me to get it running - depending on repairs needed such as magneto repair etc - please reply anyone who is familiar on the subject - Jim

I failed to mention what year the old Fordson
was built - the owner estimates 1912 to 1915 -

James,
The Fordson tractor wasn't sold commercially in the U.S. until 1918. In 1917 a versions of the production model 'F' were exported to England and a few made it to Canada. The units exported were nameless at the time and were referred to as Ministry of Munitions or MOM tractors. The few that slipped into Canada remained nameless (officially) until March of 1918. The tractor you are interested in is probably of 1918-1928 vintage. Just an additional note: The is much controversy about the 1928 American F. Whereas, the factory space used for Fordson production was closed and refitted for the production for the Ford model A automobile at the end of 1927. It would appear that any American F sold in 1928 was actually produced in 1927.

I have in my possession an old Fordson tractor as well. Wanted to know if there is a general source out there somewhere to find out the year, model (if any), and value of this tractor. Any help is appreciated.
