How can I tell the model year of my Fordson Major from serial #?

I bought a Fordson Major diesel at an auction. It has blue fenders. I found the following serial number on the right side of the engine block, near the fuel injection pump: 1473413. Can anyone tell me the year it was made? Is this the engine serial number of the serial number for the tractor? Is there somewhere else to look?

Your tractor was produced in May 1958. The serial number is also stamped on a small plate on the front of the battery box. The numbers should both be the same. If not someone has put in a new engine or block

I have a Fordson serial #1494697. What year and type of tractor do I have? Also would like to know where I could find a simms injection pump #4a75s527. If possible horse power and engine size.

I retrieved serial # off the right side of block above injection pump.

Your tractor was built in 1/59. I would say the you have a power major or a major diesel. You should be able to get a injection pump at a New Holland dealership.
