My dad just tonight here in ireland, let the tractor rrun out of diesel the problem is we did not have enough time to bleed the system as we were 30 mins trying to get fuel to apper, this did not happen and my dad just kept trying to start it. It started weak on 1 cyl for a while then returned to normal, but sparks start to come out, can this disrupte the timing or anything, or could anything have gone out of place, please help me, this is an urgent message.

Henry

Hey Henry,
It's exactly what John said, just some carbon that got loosened burning out, won't hurt anything. It teaches you to never run out of fuel! Good luck

Henry, if the tractor started and run OK, then you didn't hurt anything. Some times diesels can be a bear to get started when they run out of fuel like that. The sparks that you saw were probably just carbon that broke lose when the tractor was trying to start/ running on one or two cyls. maybe even back fired once or twice, I've had that happen, it should be OK though.
