Todd,
I purchased a 1961 petrol Dexta about 5 years ago for about $600. It was partially restored but still needed tires, a battery and head gasket to install the rebuilt head. At about the same time another one, a 63, sold here (northern New York) for $1600 with a back blade. At about the time I bought mine, a fellow in Ontario told me he paid around $2500 Canadian for his. While these are not common, they are not nearly as scarce as often claimed. Engine numbers indicate that 4500 to 5000 were manufactured between 1960 and 1964, and a large portion were sold in eastern Canada.

Hi Todd,
I checked my used tractor price book, it says the Dexta runs from $3930 for a '64 in great shape needing no repairs to a low of $2140 for a '57 in poor shape less the cost of any repairs needed. I find the book seems to run about $500 to $1000 higher than I'd pay for a tractor around here, your area may well be higher.

The only thing is the gas engine, it may well be an engine out of a later model (the Dexta was sold as the Ford 2000 after '64) was installed in a pre '64 Dexta, or it may be a '65 or newer tractor. Hope this helps, good luck.

You didn't say what country in which you are located, these prices are US prices. I think the tractor was still marketed in Europe as the Dexta for a number of years after '64.
