Hello allI have a '63 Super Dexta, and am contemplating adding a 3 pt log splitter for the piles of wood I have to split. I am very fortunate in that I have the original owner's manual and a shop manual for the tractor. Reading through the owner's manual last night, I learned that aux hydraulics can be easily connected through the connection below the seat, and activated with the valve mounted there. However, there is a caution issued, with no real explanation as to why, or possible consequences. Tha manual states that with the exception of the drawbar, the lift arms should be raised to the highest point BEFORE activating the aux hyd switch. The main control lever can then be used in its normal manner to move fliud back and forth in the accessory being used. Once the aux switch is moved to the aux position, the lift arms are rendered inoperative. If I am going to be using the log splitter, it would be hanging in the air in that position. To use the splitter properly, the lift arms would need to be in the down position. The only thing I can think of is that most pieces attached to the 3 pt would neede to be in the transport position in order to keep from being dragged along the ground. This would not be an issue with a splitter. Am I right in my assumption, or is there some little known design "feature" of which I am not aware? Thanks. Bill
