1958 Dexta Service Costs

I wish to service my 1958 Fordson Dexta soon, i bought it off a man who had not got it serviced in 5 years, it runs great though
I am wondering who much it would cost me to get the, brakes, clutch, new oil and fuel, all oils changed, and a new rear axle seal, could u tell me how much this will cost roughly? Thanks Alot

Al I can't understand why you would go through all that. The rule is that if it aint broke don't fix it.

I would change all the tranny, differential and engine oil & filters and run it at least for a while to see what needs serviced.

There is a chance the leather axle seal will soak up oil and swell back up to be okay under normal use

Around here the just the parts for brakes, clutch, and wheel seal would be from $600 to $1000 plus onto that another $500 to $800 labor if someone else does it for you. So it would range from $1100 or so up to $1800 total plus whatever else gets corrected.

There's nothing complex on a Dexta so if you decide to do it yourself and don't have the manuals just re-post your qurstion about the problems and some of us will email the manual techs for you. Good luck -Jerry
