I just finished servicing my Dexta Hyd's. I found the main stainless steel filter in the hyd. case to be complete blocked with dirt. Had it cleaned in a pressure tank... now works great. It was so dirty that the hyd pump actually sucked it in hard enough to pull it up againse the drive shaft running through the hyd case. Almost wasted the filter. Hyd's now much better than before. Must remove the top plate on hyd case to get filter in and out, but not a hard job.

Tim,
Underneath the back end of your major is a drain plug, between the drawbar links that go towards the front. It is mounted in a plate held on by 1/2in spanner size bolts.

With the oil warm, remove the plug.(clean oil from armpit :0). It holds a few gallons. (not the armpit, the tractor). When most of the oil is drained, remove the bolts and the plate. Inside the plate is the intake filter which may be blocked. Only remove the bolts around the plate in which the drain plug is fitted. The other plate with a lot of bolts in under here is the hydraulic pump mounting plate. If the tractor has been really used you may have pump problems. Replace all parts removed then put in about 5 gal of oil. Run the system, operate the loader, then drain this out and throw away. Refill the system to the level on the dipstick. This should clean out your loader rams and pipes. The gear box oil is seperate and is drained from beneath the gearbox. The filler for this is near the clutch pedal.

I think I am being really generous giving you this information after what you did to our Test Team :)
