Priming super major

Anybody got any ideas about how to prime my '64 super major fuel system after changing the fuel filter? Someone before me removed the fuel lift pump! The fuel line goes straight from the tank to filter housing. I was thinking of getting the front of the tractor pointing downhill (steep downhill!), filling the tank with fuel-that should force it through the filter and into the fuel pump, don't you think?

Thanks for the advice,
Mark

Take an air hose and a clean rag, wrap the rag around the blow nozzle to make a seal over the filler cap of the fuel tank. Be sure you have some fittings loosened and put some air pressure in the tank... continue to bleed until clear fuel comes out and bubbles and foam cease. Tighten the fittings or bleed cap screw on the pump immediately.

I got it primed. I filled the fuel tank, cracked open the input fuel filterline-in 3 seconds fuel poured out; tightened it back, went to the output fuel line, same thing, then to the bleed screw on the injector pump. Turned it over and it fired right up. Thanks for the reply and advice!
