I am experiencing some difficulty finding valve keepers for a 1927 Fordson Model F - Should anyone have some good used serviceable keepers and would be willing to sell them - please email me at jams@lakedalelink.net Thank you - JS

Had the same problem on my '23 F. The keepers had worn through the exhaust valve spring seat on the #2 cylinder causing a dead miss. I ended up making a pair out of drill rod that were a bit oversized. While in there, I discovered one of the keepers on the #1 exhaust valve was in backward! No wonder that valve looked crooked. I shudder to think of the shape of the hole in the valve guide...or the valve and seat for that matter. So far though, no smoke or blow-by and she may even miss a little less at idle.

Theman - As I bought my 27 Fordson F in a basket I never received any keepers as the head was off and the valves were taken out - one local tractor dealer suggested I buy keepers as close as possible to the originals and then grind them down to fit - this is not the right way to do things when it comes to engine overhawl - maybe I will just wait and see if Fordson house can scare me up some - for now they are out of stock - Jim
