Fordson major tvo.

how rare are tvo majors. i may have the offer of one and would like to know weather its worth it or not.
Ive got a diesel model (1952) and think they would look good together.
any info on value etc.

Where are you? Here in Australia TVO (We call them Kerosene) Majors are still quite common and easy to come by although usualy at about half to two thirds the price of a Diesel Major. In the UK I belive they are real scarce.

I intend to reestore one down the track. I think that they will become colectable based on the fact as a working tractor they are not as popular as the Diesel and they will disapear.

Some engine parts are hard to get. Sleeves are the same as the diesel. You can use diesel rings but you only need two compression rings. Pistons are not available but there should be plenty of good second hand ones about.

If you want it as a collector get it. Even if it is only used for small jobs, any Fordson is worth saving.
