Need PTO gear for FMD

I'm looking for a PTO drive gear for a Fordson Major. The gear is stamped with part number E7=GE=9, which corresponds with the number in the parts book. The gear has 18 teeth, and runs on the end of the extension shaft that comes back from the middle of the tractor. My parts book refers to a standard and a 'raised' PTO, and I believe this to be the 'raised' version (shifter lever comes up from the rear of the tractor). any help in finding this gear will be greatly appreciated.

That part is hard to get, like hens teeth, even in England and here in Australia. The raised PTO is a sought after option that gets sold as a complete set (my Super Major has one).

Your best bet is to email Leo Wiggnal here in Australia. His email is on a post on the next page. He will make you one. He has an old Ford truck and Tractor dealership not far from me and what he dosnt know or have is not worth knowing or having.

good luck

Steven

Steven:

I was afraid someone would tell me that... I'm going to try a few more salvage yards, but I'll keep Mr. Wiggnal's address handy. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction! After looking closely at the gear, it appears to have been very well made. The case hardening was very well done, as was the machining. Does anyone know what alloy was used? I know 8620 is a common gear alloy, would that have been the material that was used?
