I am heading to an auction this weekend that has a Fordson Super Major up for sale. Wondering what the specs are. Width, Height, HP. Also wondering if this tractor is any good and if it is reliable. I currenlty own a Ford 600 that is to small for my needs. I am looking for something a little larger with more power.

Thanks

Tom

It has about 52 hp (SAE) and weighs about 4800-5000 lbs. It was made in 1960-64. It should be reliable and the parts should be easily available. Some people complain that the steering is a bit stiff but if it has power steering its not a problem. It also has a dual clutch and position control / Qualitrol in the three point linkage. Qualitrol is the weigh transfer system.

Thanks! Any idea on the width. I have a trailer that is 83 inches wide and am wondering if I need to rent one larger/wider. My Ford 600 fits on it fine but I would not get something like a International/Farmall 400 on it.

The wheels are adjustable so the overall width can be chosen between 65" and 85" depending the position of the wheels. Length is 130,5" and heigth is 57,35" from the ground to the top of the radiator and 63" to the top of the steering wheel.
