Have been noticing the talk about straightening fins on a Model F. Have a Model F as well. Its radiator has some torn/missing fins on one side. Tractor doesn't overheat. Don't think radiator has ever been removed. Am I opening a can of worms by putting a new core in (just for the sake of appearance)?

Joe, I suggest you talk to someone at your favorite radiator shop before tearing it down. One thing that will probably have to be changed is the location of the overflow tube. When I had the radiator core replaced on my '23 F, I didn't know it would be moved. If your core is original, the tube runs down the middle of the core and comes out of the center of the bottom tank over the boss for the hand crank. This hole will have to be plugged or sealed in some fashion. If the bottom tank on your tractor was as thin as mine because of years of sediment and rust, you will have cracks and more leaks. Yes, it looks great to have nice new fins. But if you're a purist, oval tubes instead of round, a relocated overflow pipe, and more potential leak points will be a source of irritation.
