Help! Is there a way (and how) to remove the fuel filter inside the fuel tank without removing the tank? If not then how does one remove tank? Do you need to remove steering wheel!

Yes, if you are removing the tank you will need to remove the steering wheel, (use a bearing puller, not a 3 legged puller),
the throttle lever and you'll neet to disconnect the wiring to the two dash warning lights.
There are three vertical bolts which hold the tank in place, undo these, disconnect the fuel line at the fuel tap and the tank can now be carefully lifted off....

Peter forgot to mention the removal of the fuel return line from the injectors to the fuel tank. If its just the filter you want out, you need only disconnect all fuel lines & remove the fuel tap & primer assembly. From memory this requires moving something slightly so the fuel tap will rotate. Or was it simply turning the fuel tap all the way in? Not sure now. I'll have a look tomorrow.
