I've been looking for brake axle oil seals for a Fordson Major (1955) but have not found any. I found these seals for a Super Major though. So I'm asking are the seals the same in the both models although the brakes are different? Thanks for answers in advance.

If your located in the U.S. I suggest taking a seal to brown bearing (motion industrys). They can measure and supply you with the seal. Since they are an industrial application outfit, they can cross reference for bearings and seals across the automotive, agricultural, construction, and machinery applications. They are also a fraction of the price than going to a ford holland dealer for parts. Most suppliers don't have the books to cross reference for the correct seal. The industrial application resource is able to do it by measurement.

Hope this helps,

Thanks for the answers. I'm not in the U.S. so what Ron suggested is not an option. Are there any firm in U.S. that I can mail order from? I know the dimensions of the seals. I have asked locally but they are not able to make inch size seals.

I shall ask Brian Dye about this. Thanks for the tip.

I would think that some bearing/seal industrial suppliers in your region can do just the same as Ron suggested in the US. Many seals and bearings are made to international standards. Also a good counter man will know which dimensions can be compromised and how far. The more info you can provide then the better, right down to a sketch or cross section view in the service book. Yes, Brian is an excellent resource to contact as Peter suggested, there is an excellent possibility he will know the seal number to obtain from the bearing house. Bill
