IT IS BELIVED TO BE A 1928 FORDSON, BUT WE HAVE NOT FOUND ANY MARKINGS TO CONFIRM THAT. WE TOOK THE GAS TANK OFF AND IT SAID IT WAS PRODUCED IN ENGLAND. ARE THERE ANY FEATURES SOLELY ON THE 1928 TO DETERMINE IF IT IS OR NOT, AND IF SO IS IT A MODEL "F" OR "N".

DESPERATELY SEEKING SON-IN-LAW

p.s. ANY IDEA WHERE TO LOOK UP MANUALS ON THIS MODEL.

THANK YOU

Ken: I would concur with Phill in previous post. The tanks stamped "Made In England" were Model N era. You never know however, someone may have mounted an N tank on an F tractor. Another quick way to tell an N is the external magneto. If the engine has a mag on the lower right front of the engine, it's an N. Keep us posted.

The gas tank made in England suggests it's an N, and if so, made somewhat later than 1928. An easy way to tell the difference between an F and an N is to check for a water pump. The Ns had pumps, while the Fs used "thermo-syphon". You may be able to date it more precisely if you can read the serial number located on the block, roughly between the two front legs of the manifold.
