I have an old Fordson tractor that I would like to find out some information on. I found this website last night and was looking at the photos. Ours looks more like the 1917 model because it doesn't have any fenders on it like the photos of the 1920 models. I can not seem to find any serial # . I have found a F-4 on it in 2 places. Back down by the hitch I found an upside down # that looks like 51536 I don't know if that means anything. Does anyone have any ideas or where I can find out the year? Also on the side it says "Holley Carberator 00" Detroit-USA It has 7 spokes on the back wheels and 10 on the front wheels. Anything would be helpful. Thank you, Charlene (Michigan)

Fordsons could be purched with or without guards. Has it got a fuel tank? if so it should say where it was made. Has it got square holes in the sides of the radiator? The air clearners also changed shape in the f model

The serial number will be on the block at the front of the engine just above the manifold, it will be difficult to find. If the engine has not been changed you will know what year it was built by using one of the serial number charts you can find on the net.

It sounds like you have a Model F Fordson. The serial number is usually on the engine block, towards the front of the engine, beside the exhaust manifold. The numbers are usually covered with grease & dirt, so you may have to scrap around the exhaust manifold to find them.
