Does anybody have any information on fitting alternative parts from other engines to rebuild the P6 engine. Ive heard you can use 3-144 and 3-152 parts.

I am from just outside Buxton,Derbyshire,England.Parts her are also difficult to come by but with a good storeman at your local Perkins agent you should get your parts.Check the origin of your engine,it may well be Austrailian built. The country code for Austrailia is 'C' so your engine may have a number like P= 6.305 family. A= P.6 5678943= Parts list number. C=Austailia (U= U.K.) 654321 = serial number. The last letter is the year code. It may well be worth sending an E-Mail to perkins for asistance,I have their adress here if you need it come back to me Hope this helps Richard

Richard,
Thanks for your help again.
I have been able to track down a Perkins wrecker this end. I am going to take my old parts to him, and see if we can mix and match any parts from other Perkins engines. He said that the good thing about Perkins, is they used common parts throughout their range of different sized engines, and most are interchangable.
