Hi Folks, Where do I check and fill the transmission on a 1957 FMD? I have the I&T book and it shows me how to take it apart, but not were to check and fill. What weight oil does it take? Can I use THD (Transmission/Hydraulic/Differential) oil in it? Any help would make my Fordson happy! Thanks, Jim S.

There is a big cap in the left side of the transmission(just in front of the foot rest)You remove the cap and eyeball the level. The dip stick near there is for the rear end.

Thanks, But could you pass on how high the level should be (by the eye,of course)? I live in Ontario, Canada.
Thanks, Jim S.

It is marked "High" and "Low".bring level up to "high".(It won't be too high at this mark)

Thanks JD, It was empty, I had less then 3 ltrs in it. I drained it then topped it off (it sounds better now). The New Holland dealer down here has an old fella that works at the parts counter, grew up with FMDs and says TDH oil works well in transmission, final drive system and hydralics.
Thanks for your help, Cheers, Jim S.
