1923 Model F Fittings Soldered?

I have a 1923 Model F that is in great shape, but I need to remove the fittings and valve plus the drain at the bottom of the gasoline starting tank. Couldn't get them to move, so put some heat on and saw what looked like solder coming from the joints. Are these soldered?

Also noticed that my constantly sticking float valve seems to have solder coated over the pointed seat section. Is this normal, and does anyone know of a good replacement valve?

Bob

The gasoline starting tank on my '23 F does not have soldered fittings. There is a thick gasket between the gas valve fitting (large) and the bottom of the tank. The drain valve has not leaked so I have left it alone figuring I'd break it if I ever tried to open or remove it. If your fittings have been soldered, some brave soul must have had a real problem with leaks.

The Fordson House in Escanaba, MI shows to have float valves available on their website. I need one for my carb too.
