Hello.

I was wondering what is involved in converting a factory tall pipe 1959 Dexta to underswept exhaust. I have found a manifold that routes the pipes under the tractor, but was wondering if I had to move fuel lines (they appear to be in the way, but im not sure) and other items to a different location.

Thanks, Greyson

The fuel lines are routed behind the downswept exhaust pipe on My Dexta. The lines have a bend in them to clear the exhaust by about 1/2 to 1". I can only suggest you obtain some piping & bend up a new set of lines. The upright system on a Super Dexta that I worked on some time ago had the same manifold, but it had a cast bend attached which pointed the exhaust upward. The difference of course being that the Super Dexta has a mechanical govenor on the injection pump & as such the fuel lines are situated differently from the straight Dexta. Have a look at some of the photo's available on this board or Oscars Fordson pages & see if you can see the requirements on any of the photo's. Good luck. Regards, Paul
