Glad to see you back, thought maybe one of those old Texas twisters blew you away!:) I got a little brain tweaker for you. I have a '62 SD built in Feb 62. Along the way someone has put a standard Dexta cowling on. In order to do so, they had to cut another hole for the breather tube which now falls into the hinge line. Do you know when the cowling configuration was changed between the two models?
Thanks Don Gerber

Hello Don, thanks for the concern. That's a good one on the cowl. Never ran across that b-4 I'll see if I can find it.

I have seen them switched the other way around. All that amounted to was loosening the breather cannister straps and spinning the cannister.

There's still some good SD body parts around here so at least some straits end up Super with a little paint and a few bone yard parts.

Thanks Burrhead.. Yeah I know, The old girl still pulls and grunts like new since I overhauled her. It's just kind of ugly looking down the hood line. I was just curious since I couldn't find any PN change in my books during that time frame. It appears the air cleaner is in its original place, but after 41 years who knows for sure. Hope you and yours have A Merry Christmas.
Regards Don

Don so far all I've found is the standard info. The parts change came up when the serial# changed from 08A for a Dexta prefix to 09B prefix when the 1962 year model SD came out.

It is kinda odd tho cause they both have the same part# for their breathers.
