Is there a mid 1920's fordson that was smaller than the model F. I looked at photo's on some sites, the one I found in South Dakota seems smaller but looks very similar.

The answer to this question is a Yes and No. No Ford did not have a production model smaller than the model F in the mid 20's But.. Henry Ford had one special 2/3 scale fordson made for his grandkids. This tractor is in a private collection sold out of the henry ford museum quite a few years back. A model F is not a big tractor at about 5 feet wide and about 8 feet overall length and wieghs 2700 lbs without fenders. The only similar looking tractor I can think of that is smaller is the fist fergusons built by David Brown but very few of them are here in the USA.
