I have a 1955 fordson major diesel and i am wondering if anyone knows where in the UK i can get some parts for it. Really needs a piston and liner set and replacement rims for the back wheels as they are badly rusted.

I'll second that about Richard Pocock. He is excellent. My first tractor was an old Power major that had a lot of problems, and he tried his utmost to help me out. I then bought a 4000 from him and again I couldn't fault him for the time and effort he spent with me. His yard is in Berwick St. John, just outside Shaftesbury, Dorset. Another place you might try is(if I can say it here) is E G Coles, tel 01747 851344, also outside Shaftesbury. They usually deal with more modern stuff but you might strike lucky.
Best of luck, Chris.

I know the UK is tiny compared to USA, but where are you? There are loads of adverts in Tractor and Machinery magazine as well as on the web www.agrilineproducts.com www.brookfield-tractors.co.uk to name a couple.

Neil

p.s. that looks like an old scraper tractor to me, you'll be wanting a couple of front wheel end caps too - I remember it well.

hehe
it was a scraper tractor for years. In fact that was pretty much all it did. Yeah the grease caps on the front wheels got pretty mashed up. I got someone to repair those for me though :)

Richard Pocock on 01747 828272 should be able to fix you up. He deals in new and used parts and he's excellent to deal with.
Regards,
Peter.
