Bob i talked to the guy he pulled up the diaphragm said he could get it for $63.29 plus shipping and tax. he said if you go to a diesel rebuild shop in your area they should be able to order the same part, if not let me know , i could maybe get it for you some way.

I own a 57 or 58 Dexta. Purchased the diaphragm at Scott Tractor in Indianola, MS. Scott Tractor has several Case/IH dealerships in Southeast Arkansas, North Louisiana, and West Mississippi.

Scott Tractor didn't have to special order the part, but be prepared to pay $140 for a piece of leather smaller than the tongue of a dress shoe.

$140 US ????? ????? Judas Priest !!!!! Did that get you shares in the company that made it?
Or did you pay a patent payment for someone as well?? $50 Australian we get them for & we all know the Ozzie dollar is worth about 2/3 of a Yank dollar. Doesnt sound like your parts man is doing you any favours.

Paul, yes I agree $140 is a good sum of money. The part was in a New Holland box, so I paid for that name. I didn't have time to do much research and price comparisons. The part was needed and Scott Tractor had it, and the tractor will not run well without the diaphram, case of being between a rock and a hard place (as we southerners say). When you consider a dozen or so 4 and 6 row cotton pickers were on the lot for sale, costing $250,000+ each, then maybe $140 isn't so bad.
