Injector pump? Painted or not

Exhaust? Silver, Blue...Anyone had good luck with

Injector pump is painted. So is radiator hoses but not radiator or fan belt. Radiator is black. Fan cowl is blue. Grills are silver, wheels orange. Strictly speaking the gear knobs were also painted but I can never bring myself to do that. Exhaust and manifold is blue. Paint it and take a photo. The paint soon burns off but thats how they came. Also paint the rubber boot on the starter motor. Fuel lift pump is painted without the glass bowl. Front wheel hub covers are also blue.

I am painting my super major as I assemble to ensure full coverage. I will then paint tractor again after assembly minus fenders, cowl and hood. These I paint off the tractor. Fuel tank I paint on the tractor after painting underside before installing.

Good luck. By the way, I didnt buy pre mixed paint. If you take the instrument cluster the paint underneath should be in good nick. I get paint custom matched when I can.

Guys, Iwork for O'Reilly Automotive in Storm Lake Iowa and we work with many guys who paint the older tractors and we have codes for many in the Dupont line. Where do you go to track original paint codes or is that something I will have to take that instrument cluster out to get a good look? We have a chromavision camera which scans the paint and gives us darn close readings to color

Wire I an not sure of. I think that should be painted but the tach cable is not. Just been studying pics of new tractors. In Gibards book, Ford Tractor story Dearborn to Dagenham, page 126 the pwer major has painted wiring but black gear knobs. Note that is a "special" display tractor. It has got some chrome work.

I will paint my wire but NOT the fuel tap. All other pipes and hoses paint except radiator fill hose. Also fuel cap and engine oil cap is CAD silver.
