I have just acquired a Sears GT/19.9 HP tractor model 917.257080 myself. I am currently not getting any spark, and was wondering if anyone had some information on the machine. I have gone through the usual checks, but it looks like the neutral safety switch has been disconnected. This could be the reason. If anyone has any information or could lead me in the right direction, I would appreciate it. thanks,
Scott Fisher

i have a 74. whould someone please look under the hood and tell me how the wire goes coming out of the hour meter, does it go to the negative or the positive on the battery. my specific problem is that i just got a new ignition switch and now the battery isnt chargeing. i was wondering if i missed something cause i have 3 wires on the negative side and 1 (the main) on the positive side. in my experiance this doesnt sound right. since i dont have a manual and the wires were all rigged when i got it, (i ran all new electrical) i have no idea how its supposed to be.
