Bolens G8 riding mower manual/parts

Hi, I've recently been given a FMC Bolens G8 riding lawnmower. It sat at my dad's for a couple of years because it wouldn't move anymore. It's got a great new engine and should be easy to fix. I need information on how the clutch system works. It came to me with the foot pedal rod unattatched, possibly missing parts. I took the transmission apart to inspect it and either dropped a washer off the end of the one gear rod that fell off when the case came apart or it was just in there loose at the bottom of the case! I wouldn't be surprised if it was in there because there are obvious signs of patching the case where something crashed through it but the current gears look good. I'd love to see an exploded view of the transmission just for peace of mind. Does Bolens have any sites on the Internet to get information on things like this and parts lists for the mower before I spend good money on a service manual that I may never use(I'll need a new axle cover and new clutch/brake shoes and an axle key I think). Does the manual show the breakdown of all the mower parts and how to maintain everything. I want to make sure I take care of this thing once I get it running. Especially maintenance on the deck.
Thanks for any help. Please e-mail me with any comments or help.

You>Link can link up with lots of individuals, and dealers that have spare used parts. Read on for lots more info. I have posted this info previously, many, many times
for others.

Here are several experts for used and new parts, tractors, attachments, and advice:

I purchased some publication reprints from Bruneaus (Medium Tube-frame Tractor Service)-- and scanned illustrated parts lists files from others. You can also
try Garden Way.

I was notified that Garden Way (New York Parent Company) has several phone numbers. These might help you. Parts 1-800-648-6776; Customer service
1-800-437-8686; Tech service 1-800-520-5520.

Local Service or Dealers: To find local Bolens/Troy Bilt service or dealerships, checkout the dealer locator at the TroyBilt website:>Link

Publication>Link Reprints helped me a lot. When ordering parts, I also had opportunity to ask the sellers advice on conquering a particular difficulty.

As I began mechanical restoration (May 1999) of a 1966-year Bolens 1050 tractor with TR-10D engine and several attachments-- I was given much needed
encouragement and confidence in the project from some above. I appreciated those who were courteous and patient with me as I often had several issues /
questions going at the same time. Also many thanks go to individual folks who had some time to lend a few ideas of their own. Thank you BOB P. in Kansas City!!
First real use of the 1050 was with snow blower working well as could be expected with the wet snow.

This has been accomplished on my 1050. Rebuilt engine; clutch; PTO; transaxle has new bushings; All seals throughout are replaced. I saved a great deal of
money along the way by the collective assistance from club members, during the rebuild process. I guess I will paint the tractor and a mower deck when good
weather returns. I have several attachments and seek more.

I have a 18610-02 Light Tiller attachment (I may sell it when I pick up the big tiller); a 18516-02 Snow Blower attachment; a 18449 38 inch mower needs finish
painting and assembly; a 18457 42 inch mower and many parts I must consider, then paint and assemble if possible; and a Brinly-Hardy Series 500 10 inch
agricultural plow.

I hope this helps you as it did me.

I am in Washington. I don't really have a number in mind especially considering that it will be parted out. Way to many years of tracking down parts for that. I am looking for a Wheel Horse tractor to restore as my first 4 wheeled project, any ideas there.... We can try to work something out that works all the way around.
