I have a case 444, and the back wheels won't turn. The transmission is in neutral, and the brake is off (as far as I can tell). I jacked the back end up, and the back wheels will actually turn, just not in the same direction. They will spin easily, but they spin in opposite directions. If anyone knows what the problem is here, I would really appreciate the help.

Thanks,

Darren

This thing has a band brake on the right side of the rear end and i wondering if the band has rusted to the drum try turning the drum and see what happens. the wheels turning oppisite is normal differential action -when in nuetral the hyd motor is disconnected so that is not the problem-let us know how you make out

are you tring to move this with outit running?if this is a hydro,it will not move without the tractor running.check to see if there is a relieve valve to open. it allows you to move it when it's not runnin.most of the hydros i've worked on have this option.i'm not falmiliar with this model, but it should have a freewheelin option on it somewhere.hope this helped. missery.

I have a a case with hydro drive. When you put it in neutral it is supposed to be able to move, but sometimes it doesn't like to. If you start it, and have it in gear you should be able to drive it.
