Foot-controlled hydrostat transmission feels like it "slips" just like a worn out clutch. Sometimes it will not pull the tractor at all and sometimes it barely moves. Also, the deck will not raise. Already tried 50wt oil. Any other ideas or known fixes for the problem.

Take a quick peak to make sure a key isn't sheared in the driveshaft. That's probably too easy. If not then verify fluid level is ok. Assuming these conditions are fine, the hydrostat pump is the culprit. No doubt about this. That requires some knowledge of the internal workings of the pump.
Now that hydro was actually built by Sunstrand, that helps because many many other brands used the same hydro pump. The variables will be shaft size and ports for hydraulic lift etc.
You should try to find the MGR's tag on the housing and post the pump #. I'm sure your best bet would be to replace it unless you are experienced in rebuilding them. I think the ones from many Cub Cadet,Ariens,Gilsons and others would work for you.
Four capscrews hold it to the transaxle;they are generally Star type 12 pt. capscrews. One gasket in the rear of the pump seals it to the transaxle.
Switching them out is relatively easy.

Use John Deere Hy-Gard low viscosity transmission and hydraulic oil and new filter with right micron level, check with dealer. This is all I do,have had tractor for 15 years. If pump needs replacing start with this oil and filter, you will never have another problem.
