Gentlemen; Am considering upgrading my Sears 12.5 hp garden tractor. would like something bigger but made better. What would be the top 2 or 3 well made tractors of recent vintage. Would like to put a snowblower on it. Thank You

When I was looking for a tractor I indicated I wanted a hydro drive with a good transmission, as I needed to haul an 8 cu. ft. dirt cart up hills. The dealer who handles both JD and Wheelhorse told me to look for a JD316/318 tractor. I found an '86 JD316 and it works like a charm. Both of these tractors have Onan engines, 16 & 18 hp respectively. I'd like to purchase a JD318, as it has ps, dual hydraulic connections, and transmission cooler. The dual hyd connections would be needed for a 4-way snowblade control. Implements on these two tractors I believe are interchangeable, and I've run across several blades, tillers, and snowblowers in the last 6 months. My vote for the best vintage garden tractor would be a JD318.
