Briggs Straton 11 HP Vertical from a old Snapper

I have a Briggs & Straton 11 HP Vertical from a
old 1981 or 1982 snapper. I'm trying to get the carb in working order. The choke and governor both have side to side play (ie needs bushings)... So, I'm considering replacing the whole carb. And
suggestions where you can find a new carb?

Don't need to replace it.

If you mean side to side along the length of the shaft, that is usually the plates are worn out, if you mean up and down play, that's bushings.

They can be re-bushed, which can be cheaper than a new carb.

New plates are available too.

Any Briggs dealer can get you parts, they will need model and type number for the engine. To identify the model year, the first two digits of the serial number indicate the year of manufacture on a Briggs.

(serial starts with "81" it was built in 1981.- the next two digits indicate month and the fifth and sixth indicate the day of the month, the rest of serial number is just that, sequence number.)

Also, Used Carburetors are available. (I have a bunch.. Hobby business)
