The electric clutch is shot on my 1969 Ford (Jacobsen) 140 tractor. It mounts on the end of the crankshaft and is used to drive the mower deck. Does anyone out there have a used one they would sell me? Please help- the lawn is getting very long!

Thanks,

eric in vermont

You might check with your local John Deere dealer. I have seen posts that indicate they can match some clutches and are much cheaper in price than New Holland.

Thanks for the advice. I tried that last week. I took my old clutch in and I had two parts guys and a service guy look it all over. Their conclusion was that it would not be possible to adapt a John Deere one.

So..... I'm kind of running out of options....

If your shaft diameter is 1 1/8", use a universal that has 4 1/4 and 5 3/4 inch pulley. These can be purchased for around 100.00.

That sounds great! Where do you purchase a universal electric clutch? Around here, there are the local dealers for specific brands, and then a CT Farm and Country store where I get my Ford 8N parts. No one I know has universal garden tractor stuff. Is there anyone on the web?

thanks,
