I have aquired this mower with the purchase of our home and know nothing about it. I'm told it is a good mower, but thats about it. Any information would be a great help. Would it be possible to find a snow blower attachment or fabricate one? Please contact me at barlow@iquest.net.

WoW what a great bonus ,I have an 1985 782 cub and I believe them to be one of the best cubs ever made , In 1985 they painted them all red to commemorate the last year IH would build them , I bought mine 8 years ago and it has been a rock! this year acually last week I decided to go ahead and have the engine ringed ,it has over 1000 hours on it and was starting to use oil,the local shop charges 250.00 to overhaul one and that includes cylinder boring and seating the valves, the only thing about the 782 is that the early KT17 didnt oil the best so its real important to keep th oil clean and full ,and the electric PTO gets out of adjustmant sometimes.

Hi i have a 782 i bought about 5 years ago it was great until last week when it threw a rod. now i am out looking for a motor does yours have a kt17s kohler twin? if so they tell me not to run it on banks and side hills as the oil system starves under these conditions. i am looking towards a kohler or onan with a pressurized oil system for a replacement. i cannot see any sense in putting the same problem back in. yes there are snow blowers to fit your tractor, the one i have is a single stage- look for a two stage if i could find one i would switch. other than my problems now i like the tractor. let me know how you make out and keep the oil changed and full

Iv got two 782 one i mowe with the other i have a rotow triller on the other one all year long.there two motors the sling oil lube(older) and the fully lube(newer) kt17 motors. The newer one you can run on hills, ditchs ect.
If you knock a rod out more likly the motors junk
because they brake the cylender wall ends if you kept running it.I have spare cylenders and block sides for sale.I can fine snow blowers too.I have lot of cub parts.

THESE TRACTORS(582 682 782)ARE A GOOD SERIES AND AT SOME POINT THEY MAY BECOME COLLECTORS ITEMS, I HOPE. CADET ONLY MADE RED CADETS FOR TWO YEARS AND
ARE QUITE POPULAR WITH THE PULLERS. YOUR TRACTOR SHOULD HAVE THE KOHLER ENGINE IN IT WHICH IS MUCH BETTER THAN THE 2 CYLINDER BRIGGS IN MINE. WATCH YOUR OIL LEVEL CLOSELY, SMELL IT FOR GAS. IF THE FLOAT/ NEEDLE IN CARB DON'T SEAT PROPERLY GAS WILL END UP IN OIL PAN RUINING THE ENGINE. ONLY SINGLE STAGE SNOWBLOWERS AVAILIBLE TO MY KNOWLEGE AND THEY ARE NOT WORTH A DARN. PUT A 54 " SNOWPLOW ON INSTEAD. MIKE
