I have a MW Rototiller Model GIL-1590A S/N 96X75452. From reading this forum ... it would appear the Rototiller was made for MW by Gilson. Would anyone have a clue as to where I might find parts for this old workhorse ... I am specifically looking for the worm gear and worm wheel ... appears to be 34 tooth and 10 pitch ... it's a great tiller with a 7-1/2 horse B&S on it ... probably vintage late '60's I would guess ... bought it used ... would really appreciate parts breakdown if anyone has it ... I have put a lot of hours on this tiller and would really like to keep it going ... no one makes them like this anymore ...

Been there and done that. As a Lawnboy dealer, I
can get any Gilson part. Fish Toro also.

From the serial number 96X, the manufacture date is 1969. It is a Gilson, which is now owned by Toro. Contact them at 800-595-6841. Select options 2, 2, and 3. This will get you to a customer service person who will send you a manual for $2. Takes just a few days. The manual has a complete parts list. You might ask them if parts are available. I have not had to obtain any parts for my rototiller, which is similar to yours. You are correct, they don't make them like that any more. You might also try contacting Wards at 800-323-1965. I have not tried this number, but I have heard that it is amazing what they have for the old Gilson's.

Good Luck!
