The tractor is a hydrostat. It seems that the longer I mow the slower the transmission reacts. If used for long periods of time it acts as if the hydro is not working properly. Any ideas will be appreciated.

Try this: Take yer CC on a concrete surface, run the engine at high and ram the hydro into forward, then slam it back into reverse a couple times. Yeah, I know it sounds like I'm a crackpot, and watch out for wheelies, but this oftentimes clears the valves out, and that may be your problem. If it is, this is a cheap fix with no teardown...and you can lay scratch with it, too!

You might also check the connector that hooks the engine to the driveshaft. Be sure the pin there is not broken off. I've heard of them breaking but still hanging on inside the coupler enough for the thing to run. But as the heat expands the coupler, tractor goes slower as the broken pin has less "grab" and the driveshaft turns slower. Another cheap fix if it's that.

Good luck.

there is a fix not that bad if your handy with a welder run it by the guys at www.ihcubcadet.com as i recall you need to replace one of your springs and when your in there repair the cast part that has wore off over the years
