I WAS USING THE TILLER ATTACHMENT ON MY 1200 AND A COUPLE OF BOLTS UNAWARE TO ME CAME OFF THE MOUNTING PLATE. THIS CAUSED THE SEAL ON THE REAR TO LEAK. IS THIS THE TRANSMISSION FLUID OR WHAT. IS THIS SEAL EASY TO REPLACE YOURSELF AND WHAT KIND OF FLUID DO YOU FILL IT WITH, THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR ANY INFO. PS I AM TALKING ABOUT THE SEAL ON TH REAR OF THE TRACTOR NOT THE TILLER.

That is not a big problem. Get a drainpan that can hold 8 pints of oil and remove the back cover slowly so the oil doesn't make a mess. Get a new gasket and 8 pints of Hy-Tran from your Cub Cadet dealer. It'll cost ya under $10 and you will be good for another 25 years.
While the cover is off I would wipe out the transmission with some rags. You can get out additional chips and grime that have accumulated over the years.
