It is called an Electrac . GE built them in the 70's . They did not sell well as they had solid state electronic controls for the speed control and so on . You could not find anyone to work on them . My Grandfather worked for GE and had 2 of them when I was about 15 . They used 6 golf cart batteries . They had electric drive motors on the front mounted mower deck , an electric lift for the mower deck and a transmission with several gear ranges . You could mow for about 5-6 hours on a charge .He even had a sweeper . Grandpa knew enough about electronics to keep his running .

We also worked on golf carts . GE could have had a real winner if they had kept the Electrac as simple as EZ-GO kept their golf carts .

My Dad got a new 124 in 1969 and mowed and hit every thing with it for 30 years until he got his new cadet. He has about 500 hrs on it with no problems so it has got to be a very well built machine.PS the front nose is NOT as tough as the 124 , he found that out the second day he had it when flew in the barn and hit grain drill hitch(new nose, hood, engine cover)
