Tracto will not move when clutch released and in gera. Clutch seems to disengage and shifter moves thru gears okay. Belt at motor pto engages and spins the rear pull at transmissin on right side and moves the pull/brake mechinism on the left side but tractor will not move. No grinding occured when it failed. Possible transmission problem? How costly would this be and are there parts available? I have manual and breakdown of parts. Any replies would be greatly apprecaited. Thank You in advance!

Charlie ,
The first thing to check is your hubs to find out if the wood drift key is broken in one of them . If a wood drift key is broken the power being transmitted through the transmission will not go through the differential . To find out if this is the problem you can get some body to sit on the tractor and put it in gear , then look to see if one of the axles is turning in it's hub . If you need more help E-mail me .

I just took a tranny apart like yours with the same problem.....
If you jack up the back and take one wheel off and try this.... Take off the drive belt... Turn the input shaft with your hand and see if it will turn the axle when in any gear... Then while turning the pullie see if you can hold the axle from turning with your other hand...If it does this then you broke your differential... The transmision might be ok but the differential gears are broke and thats not cheap.....
