Could be a leaky dump valve. Here's a low-tech, low-cost thing to try that might fix it and certainly can't hurt: Get on a concrete pad, run the engine at fast speed, and slam the hydro into forward. Then slam it into reverse. If you get scratch out of the tires, that's fine. Just be careful you don't wheelie it too bad. Sound goofy? Well, it clears out gunked up valves that got that way because the unit has been too easily used or the fluid has not been changed per specs. Your machine goes better in reverse than forward because the forward valve is probably sticky and not holding pressure. Have some fun and slam her forward and into reverse a few times and see if that helps. Then change the fluid (use HyTran from Case-IH, it's cheaper than CC fluid, same or better stuff) and the filter. If that doesn't do it, you need a new (high priced) valve most likely. Good luck.
