You don't describe what your low-speed problem is, so it may not be carb-related and a rebuild my not help. I get curious when you say the low speed mixture screw won't change anything. Even a bad carb usually will show some change when you fiddle with that screw.

There are a lot of conditions in Kohlers that cause low speed problems. Email me with more specifics if you'd like, and I'll try to pin some down for you.

Raymond, Your 1450 is a 1976 model. You may want to get a rebuild carb kit. About $7.00. Hope this helps you out.

The 1000 series (more commonly referred to as the "Quietline" due to the isolated engine mount system, and the engine compartment side panels which help to reduce engine noise) was produced from October '74 until June '80 starting with sn # 530001 thru 664996. You serial # 601116 is about the middle of that range, so my guesw would be that yours is about a 1977. You can refer to www.ihcubcadet.com for more specifics. Gadget
