I saw a John Deere 110 converted to a tricycle front end in an issue of the Green Magazine( June 1997)Can anyone supply me with info on doing this? I rescued an old 110 carcus from the bone yard and would like to build one with a narrow front for my oldest daughter. please e-mail me with any info on this. Thanks in advance Todd

I've thought about this myself, but I'm not gonna chop up my nice, clean '64 110 to do it! But here's what I have thought through so far: To maintain the proper (level) stance, you will either have to put larger (say 33" corn planter) tires and wheels on the back, or use smaller wheels and tires on the front.

Do you have a 110 with round fenders? Because in order to use larger rear tires and wheels you will have to relocate the fenders higher also. If you have a '68 or later that has a pan deck with integral fenders, this may not be possible and you will be left to the smaller front tire option.

It shouldn't take a genius to design a tricycle front end, I'm sure a modicum of engineering ability and a small amount of creativity will do.

Thanks for the reply Mr. G. I'm trying to locate the owner of the one in the Green Magazine. This is probably the coolest garden tractor I've ever seen. Todd

Mr.Tod,

If you ever get your project off the ground I have a brand new brake drum with set screw and the new band to go with it (in the box)dia.is 4 1/4". paid to much for them but live and learn. They fit the early model 110s.

Tom
