I NEED to find a Kohler Model kt17, twin cylinder for a "rebuild candidate".

My engine blew and can not be rebuilt. I desparately do not want to part with my mower, and Silmply can not afford a new engine.

HELP>>> PLEASE!!

so far i have had no luck in locating a junked 782, or other JD with a Kohler kt17.

Good luck i was in the same boat - looked for almost a year to find a good deal on a used kt17s or even something to put in it's place. i finally gave in a bought a new series II KT17s. I hope you make out well i have a few pieces left if you peice one together but remember the life span of the series one can be very short (mine was 260hrs) good luck. John
PS stay off the side hills when you get it back together.

John, I too went through a blown motor, looked for nearly a year. The prices I got for new ones were in the upper teens to over $2,300, luckily found a new KT17s in Fargo ND for $1,300.00. If you are interested in pursuing one, let me know and I can get you the name of the company and their phone #.
It is a series II. dropped right in!

phil

Thanks but I already bought one. they can be purchased for that $1300. at a place online www.smallenginewarehouse.com it came in just a few days and dropped right in. I too found prices from $1900. for just a short block. I decided that my tractor is good shape and iI have a snow blower and dirt blade so I almost had to bite the bullet and fix it. Now i'm glad i did
