Does anyone know if John Deere made a 2-stage snowblower for the 317 garden tractor? I have heard that the Model #49 blower fits this tractor but think it is a single stage. True? Thanks.

Mr.G is correct. But there is a 2 stage blower that was made for 318's that is very large and heavy and not recommended for 317's because of lack of power steering. I'm not ceratain, but I think I was told it will fit up. With all that weight on the front it may be difficult to steer.

The JD 49 and 49A throwers are single stage "throwers" (as opposed to 2-stage "blowers"). The obvious diference is the rounded chute of the 49 (which was originally designed for the JD140) and the square chute of the 49A. There are other less noticeable differences in gearbox and the positioning of the lift cylinder.

Either will fit the 300-317, or even the later 318-322. I have a 49A and it does a very good job mounted either my 317 or my 322. Gadget
