I too have the front blade, model 307, I wish there were another model blade for these tractors, mine is very similar, a 2186... Reason to be careful, in ice, or pushing snow up onto a bank when spring comes, be careful not to allow the blade to lift the front end of the tractor as you'll bend the A frame and then the center piece which is the angle engage metal piece which is attached to the spring and trigger will then bend and the blade will go to the left or right, the only way to fix it is to have it removed and bend the A frame back and replace the two metal pieces. What seems to happen is over the winter, especially for me since I have a gravel driveway, the bolt under the blade will loosen and break the cotter pin then loosen enough to allow the A to bend then the thing breaks. It is known that if you slam the blade you'll damage the impliment but not the blade itself and/or eject yourself too...I'm just saying I wish the manual was more specific toward avoiding such an occurance on gravel. My dealer knows little of the issue, Cub replaced the entire model 307...Thanks to Mr. Hammons of Cub..anyway, the big deal is continued problems, DON'T scrape and drive quickly if you know there are objects under the soil so moving gravel/soil is fine, just don't smash the tractor pedal if you are beginning to catch the ground, better to stop, back up and move extremely slowly to avoid this. Otherwise, if you look at the setup say versus the dozer blade of a JD, this is much more stout but the JD has a lock to stop the blade angle whereas the cub does not. If anyone knows of a fix, let me know.....
