All I can say Ron is let me know the serial number if you have it and I will tell you what year it is. I live in western PA where these tractors were fairly common. I have 4 of them myself. I have a 76, 77 & 78 all with kohler 14hp and I have a 48 with a Wisconsin AEH. Please email me for info as I do not check this board often. In my area, a 12 horse 1960's model with a mower deck only is bringing between $1400 and $1600 in decent shape.

1500 is high for that economy...

For 1500 you should get
a dual tranny
hydraulics
electric start

Go to the yahoo clubs and join the economy powerking one.

If it is really old it may only be worth about 500 and mainly just for parts.

ALan Thanks for the insight.looks like value might depend on what one intents to do with them and maybe what part of the country we're in.

Ron By the way we're here Wi,where that damm groundhog was right on the money.....

I have a 52' model PowerKing economy with a 14 horse Kohler, great little tractor. Go to tractorbarn.com for parts and their should be a link to Greggs PowerKing photo website that will tell you anything you ever wanted to know about these little tractors. If your computer has speakers turn them on a hear the thump-thump of a Economy run! The Implements are VERY RARE AND HARD TO FIND, even mower decks in good shape. This deal is definitly worth $1,500! I wish I could find some matching implements for mine. By the way they are painted a dark orange(like a Case tractor orange)with black wheels. Good Luck.

Thanks Alan Had two people respond and wanted to thank both of you,but its early and I haven't mastered this dammable key board yet. Will follow up on the web- sites you listed. My thoughts were that it cute, looks like an easy retoration project, and small enough to haul around on a snowmoble trailer. Like I suggested to the other gentleman, intent and where we live dictates value???? Any way thanks for your time and we'll see where it goes. Ron

Wow guys! I have a '74 Jim Dandy that I am almost finished restoring. Fresh engine, new paint, and everything's there. Mower is A1 condition as is the rest of the tractor. I planned to ask $1000 in NE PA, but now maybe I'll shoot for $1500 or more!

Yes location does dictate value...

However the implemtnts you talked about plow, cultivator are just common implements, granted they mean something to someone who wants to have a 100% economy but the economy will pull any plow effectively...

The mower is hard to come by

The most popular states for the economy were, I think, ohio, pa conn, and then particular local areas like charlote and northen pa where there was a strong dealer.

I have a 1962 jim dandy that only has the plow, and rear tool harness. The other parts for it are rare and far away so I am selling it.

Most of the components come up rarely for sale and when they do they weigh so much that shipping alone eats you up....

So if you can use it as is without wanting other components then I say buy it..

It will certainly be the last tractor you buy if you maintain...heck mine is 38 and still going strong..

Oh my brother is giving me his 12hp wheelhorse with mower deck and plow...which is why I am giving up the jim dandy...

Thanks for the follow up.Back here in WI
they're not all that common,I've been to
a lot of auctions over the years and never
seen one come up.Could be like a good
Remington rifle, those that got them keep
em..Any how we're still dealing,things are
tighting up around here, and if it doesn't
warm pretty soon we'll all be on food stamps....Thanks again..... Ron
