I have the chance to buy a Dixon 428 mower. Apparently it is a 12 hp. w/46" deck. Can anyone give me any feedback on this model Dixon ZTR mower? Is this a good model?

What years was this produced? What should I look for when I check it out?

Thanks for any and all help

Jim - There is a blue book for lawn equipment. I think it's about $50 or $60 though. Kind of expensive unless you are in the business.

You might try the link below. Keep in mind, the prices here will be retail. If you plan on trading in, best cut what you think your tractor is worth, by 1/3rd to 1/2. - Dave

I own a Dixon Z427. This has a Kawasaki engine {12hp] and a 42 inch deck. It is the fastest mowing machine for a 42 cut, that I have ever used. I mow a large lawn and this mower just keeps going with little maintenance.I have used this machine for at least 10 years and have not had to replace any of the drive parts. One draw back is you don't want to use it on very steep ground, if you are giong sideways to the hill. It won't tip over but the weight of the front of the mower will try to go down hill and you will lose traction and down you go. Other than that I recommend them to anybody.
