I have a Model 1250 with the starter generator number 1101977 6J8 and a neg. ground(?) system. Does anyone know the voltge reg number? I purchased this tractor torn down and have it running but the amps discharge constantly. Is this a neg gd system?
Thanks

Roby,
I also have a 1250 Bolens. Yes, it is a negetive ground system. I'll look at my parts manual and get the voltage regulator number for you. My regulator has been replaced with a generic one from a lawn & garden shop. Someone once told me you can reverse the polarity on the voltage regulators by "jumping" the outer 2 terminals. I have no idea if this is in fact true. You might want to buy a copy of the parts manual. I just bought a copy from Garden Way. There are several drawings that might be of help to you as you assemble your 1250.
