Does anyone know if the pre-70's Fords(Jacobsen) came with a rear sleeve hitch lift assembly option? If so, what does it look like, anyone have pictures, or does anyone have one for sale or one that I could copy and make my own? Any help would be appreciated.

I'm not sure if it is the same for a LGT 100 but I have a parts drawing out of my manual that may help as well. I will fax a copy to you if you want. Just let me know.

A sleeve hitch was made.

Infact the very first of the Jacobsen Chief's (same as the Ford 100) had it standard. But that was the VERY early builds.

The later years it was availble, but I have never seen one other than in the parts book.

The lift was similar to the tiller, but in the 'standard' weight model used a cable, and the heavy weight used a bent metal rod. The tiller lift is a big old hunk of steel.

I can send you some pictures from the parts book, as well as you should look in the yahoo forum (clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/jacobsengardentractors) join as a member (free), look in the photo gallery, oliver6oliver, hitch. I think this hitch was actually for a model year 72-? and not the original 6x-71 models like yours, but it may give you some ideas.

Hello I have a ford 100 garden tractor it has a hitch for the rototiller attachment. It hooks up with two large pins. the rototiller is raised and lowered by the handle at the right side it is conneceted underneath the tractor by a long steel bar that hooks to the rototiller and to the bottom of the lift handle. is this what you need????? John,
Yes that sounds as if it may be what I am looking for. It's a start anyway. My Ford 100 has no attachments, but I can get a small brinley plow, disc, and other attachments. If I can rig up a sleeve hitch of some sort, it would sure increase the tractor's usefulness, and I would like it to look like the factory hitch if poss. Is there any way that you could email pictures of your setup or any other ideas....I know there are other folks interested in this very same topic.
Waiting for the thaw to scratch some dirt!
