I JUST RECENTLY BOUGHT A FORD LT11 LAWN TRACTOR AND AM HAVING A PROBLEM GETTING JUICE TO THE STARTER. I CAN JUMP DIRECTLY TO THE STARTER WITH JUMPER CABLES AND IT WILL TURN OVER SO I SUPPOSE ITS A PROBLEM WITH ONE OF THE SAFTEY SWITCHES OR THE SOLENOID. WHEN I FIRST ATTATCHED THE BATTERY TO THIS I CROSSED THE POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE IN A RUSH TO SEE IF THE THING WOULD START, I CAUGHT MY FLUB UP QUICKLY AND NEVER HAD THE SWITCH OUT OF THE OFF POSITION SO IM HOPING I DIDNT HURT ANYTHING. I WAS WONDERING IF YOU WOULD HAVE A WIRING DIAGRAM FOR THIS TRACTOR AND OR SOME ADVICE ON WHAT I SHOULD CHECK. I DO HAVE SPARK BY THE WAY. THANKS FOR YOUR TIME!!!! TOM MCKAY

Funny, I have a LT11 that I bought 2 yrs ago. Replaced engine with Briggs 12hp last fall, due to blown head gasket on 11hp. I've mowed yard 5 times this year, last week while shut down to refuel my mower refused to restart. I too, after several minutes of tinkering jumped the starter and it ran perfectly. I have jumped all 3 safety switches, and have left unplugged. I replaced solenoid, I tested all wires for continuity, I checked ignition switch, still it wont start, no power from solenoid to switch, but do have power to amp guage from solenoid. I installed an after market 60 amp marine switch (push button ignition, water proof) with 10 gauge wire between battery and starter, works great but key must be in on position to run. I previously spoke with new holland/ford they said sounded like I've done everything right, but thought maybe I bought a bad solenoid. I don't know but if you figure it out please email me.
